This is my great grandmothers recipe I got from my mother.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking power
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 pinch salt

How To Make german pound cake

  • Step 1
    in one bowl Cream butter, then add sugar snd mix together.
  • Step 2
    then add eggs, milk, and vanilla mix and set aside.
  • Step 3
    in onother bolw sift together flour, baking power, and salt.
  • Step 4
    Add the wet mixture slowly to the flour mixture.
  • Step 5
    Optional: add 1 cup of nuts, chocolate chips, and Raisins. Add one or all three. I add all three:) (one cup each)
  • Step 6
    Grease & flour a 12 cup bunt pan. Bake at 350 for an hour or until golden brown; it will crack on top so don't worry. sift powder Sugar on top when done.
