I received this recipe from an old friend of the family, When I was just 11 years old she made it for us for the first time.

Ingredients
- SIFT TOGETHER
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon allspice, ground
- CREAM TOGETHER
- 1/2 pound butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 6 - eggs (one at a time)
- ADD ALTERNATING TO FLOUR MIXTURE
- 1 teaspoon baking soda (disolved in 1 1/4 c. buttermilk or sour cream)
- THEN ADD:
- 2 pounds pecan halves
- 1 can #303 crushed pinapple, drained
- 2 pounds red cherries, candied
- 1/2 pound white or golden raisens
- 1 quart smuckers appricot preserves

Step 1Bake in 2-3 8 inch layer round pans.Bake 350 for 1 1/2 hours or until pick comes our clean.

Step 2Frosting: 2 cups evaporated milk (canned cream) 2 cups sugar 6 egg yolks (only) 1/2 pound butter Cook & stir constantly over medium heat until thick (about 12 minutes) Remove from heat and add: 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups chopped pecans 2 cups flaked coconut Beat until thick and cooled Spread on cake.
