Ingredients

SIFT TOGETHER

4 call purpose flour
-
2 tspbaking powder
-
1 tspcinnamon
-
1 tspsalt
-
1 tspcloves
-
1 tspfreshly grated nutmeg
-
1 tspallspice, ground
-
CREAM TOGETHER
-
1/2 lbbutter
-
2 csugar
-
6eggs (one at a time)
-
ADD ALTERNATING TO FLOUR MIXTURE
-
1 tspbaking soda (disolved in 1 1/4 c. buttermilk or sour cream)

THEN ADD:
-
2 lbpecan halves
-
1 can(s)#303 crushed pinapple, drained

2 lbred cherries, candied
-
1/2 lbwhite or golden raisens
-
1 qtsmuckers appricot preserves
How to Make German Fruit Cake
- Bake in 2-3 8 inch layer round pans.Bake 350 for 1 1/2 hours or until pick comes our clean.
- Frosting:
2 cups evaporated milk (canned cream)
2 cups sugar
6 egg yolks (only)
1/2 pound butter
Cook & stir constantly over medium heat until thick
(about 12 minutes)
Remove from heat and add:
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups chopped pecans
2 cups flaked coconut
Beat until thick and cooled
Spread on cake.
