Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    raisins
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped dates
  • 1 stick
    unsalted butter
  • 2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    apple cider
  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    cloves
  • 1 Tbsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 c
    chopped toasted pecans

How to Make GERMAN CHRISTMAS CAKE

Step-by-Step

  1. Simmer first five ingredients for 20 minutes then cool
  2. sift together remaining ingredients except Pecans.
    Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients and pour
    into a greased 8 inch square baking pan.
  3. Top with pecan halves and bake at 325 for 1-1 1/2 hour.
