Ingredients

1 1/2 c
raisins
1 1/2 c
chopped dates
1 stick
unsalted butter
2 c
brown sugar
1 1/2 c
apple cider
3 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
cloves
1 Tbsp
cinnamon
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
soda
1/2 tsp
nutmeg
1 c
chopped toasted pecans

How to Make GERMAN CHRISTMAS CAKE

Step-by-Step

  • 1Simmer first five ingredients for 20 minutes then cool
  • 2sift together remaining ingredients except Pecans.
    Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients and pour
    into a greased 8 inch square baking pan.
  • 3Top with pecan halves and bake at 325 for 1-1 1/2 hour.
