This recipe is delicious! My Dad's favorite cake is *German Chocolate Cake* so this is a must in my recipe box!

Ingredients

  • 1 can carnation evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 - egg yolks ( slightly beaten )
  • 1/2 cup real butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup shredded coconut ( lightly pre-toasted in the oven )

  • Step 1
    On a cookie sheet, spread out coconut to a thin layer. Place in pre-heated oven @ 350* for 10 to 15 minutes. Set aside...
  • Step 2
    In a medium saucepan add milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter, vanilla. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a slow boil. Continue cooking while stirring for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add pecans and coconut and stir. Let mixture cool and fill or frost your chocolate cake. Voila`~ delicious!
