I have made this recipe for years, it is one of my favorites. I make it often for company because it is so quick and easy.

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour, sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons shortening, melted
- 1 ounce chocolate, unsweeted and melted
- 1/4 cup cocoa, unsweetened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1.75 cups water, hot
- - whipped cream, optional
How To Make fudge pudding cake

Step 1Sift flour with baking powder, salt and sugar into bowl; add nuts, then stir in milk, vanilla, shortening and chocolate.

Step 2Spread batter in greased 8-inch square pan.

Step 3Mix cocoa with brown sugar, stir in hot water and pour over batter.

Step 4Bake at 375 40 minutes - As pudding bakes, cake layer forms on top with rich sauce on bottom.

Step 5Spoon warm pudding cake into dessert dishes and top with whipped cream (or ice cream!), if desired.
