I have won many blue ribbons with this recipe. It is a family favorite for my 3 sons on their birthdays. It is very rich, not low calorie! A frosting recipe for this cake follows.

Ingredients For fudge "pot" cake

  • 2 c
    milk, 2%
  • 4
    chocolate, unsweetened squares
  • 1/2 stick
    butter
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2
    eggs

How To Make fudge "pot" cake

  • 1
    combine milk, chocolate & butter in a large saucepan.Cook until mixture looks like a thin pudding, stir all the time. Remove from heat, add sugar. Let cool until lukewarm. Add eggs. Sift in dry ingredients, mix until well blended for 2 minutes, Add vanilla. Pour into parchment lined pans, grease sides of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool
