Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons soda
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 can fruit cocktail
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ICING
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup coconut
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or chopped walnuts
How To Make fruit cocktail cake

Step 1Cream together butter, sugar, eggs, and brown sugar.

Step 2Add soda, flour, fruit cocktail and vanilla. Blend thoroughly.

Step 3Spray 9x13 inch cake pan with nonstick spray. Pour cake batter into pan.

Step 4Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Step 5For icing, in medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter, evaporated milk and flour. Slowly bring to boil, stirring occasionally.

Step 6Cook 2 minutes and add nuts and coconut. Spread warm over warm cake. Can be served warm or cold.
