fresh strawberry cake
When it's fresh strawberry season I tend to buy more berries than I need, then search for recipes to use those berries!!! This is the perfect recipe-your house will smell like berries and is a favorite for pot lucks or just family. YUM

Depending on how you cut the cake, anywhere from 24 to 48 pieces
Ingredients
- 1 box duncan hines strawberry supreme cake mix
- 1 box strawberry jello-not sugar free (4 serving size)
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 - eggs
- 1 cup mashed sweetened fresh strawberries, not drained
- FOR FROSTING
- 1 box confectioners' sugar
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup mashed and drained strawberries
How To Make fresh strawberry cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease and flour (or spray) 13x9" pan

Step 2Mix cake mix, jello, oil, milk and eggs together, then add berries. Pour into prepared pan and bake 33-35 minutes or until tests done. Cool

Step 3For frosting: When mixing together, you might need to add more berries or more confectioners sugar to get the right consistency. Frost cooled cake.

Step 4Note; I like to refrigerate this-I think it tastes fresher!
