This cake was one that my late mother in law made for various gatherings. People would try to buy the whole cake before it would make it to the table. She was proud that everyone that liked coconut, loved this cake!

Ingredients
- 1 box betty crocker butter recipe cake mix
- 1 cup milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1-8 or 9 ounces cool whip
- 1 package fresh frozen coconut
How To Make fresh coconut cake

Step 1Bake cake in a 9x13 pan according to the directions on the box.

Step 2Bring 1 cup milk and 3/4 cup sugar to a boil. Spoon onto warm cake. This seems like a lot of liquid, but it's ok.

Step 3Let stand until cool. Spread with cool whip and sprinkle with 1 pkg. fresh frozen coconut.

Step 4Keep refrigerated.
