Ingredients
- 4 - large granny smith apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 1 cup dates, chopped ( mix with a small amount of flour to prevent sticking together)
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- 2 - eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons allspice, ground
- 1 teaspoon cardamon, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make fresh apple spice cake

Step 1In a large bowl, sift all the dry ingredients and set aside

Step 2Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan. Perheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 3Peel, core and finely chop the apples place into a large bowl. Mix in: sugar, vanilla, beaten eggs, melted butter, nuts and dates.

Step 4With a wooden spoon, mix dry ingredients into the apple mixture. Mix only until moistened, do not over mix. Pour into prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees 50 to 60 minutes.

Step 5When cake is done remove from oven and cool 5 to 10 minutes. Turn out onto a serving plate. Let cool. Sprinkle with powered sugar or frost with an icing of your choice.
