Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups cooking oil
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 3 cups sifted plain flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 3 large apples,cored, peeled and cut into small peices
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- SAUCE
- 3/4 cup stick butter, or margarine
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk, or cream
How To Make fresh apple pound cake

Step 1Combine oil, sugar and eggs. Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes. Combine salt, soda, cinnamon, vanilla and flour. Mix together for another couple of minutes until combined. Fold in apples and nuts. Bake at 300 degrees for about 1 hour and 30 minutes or until done by checking with a tooth pick. Cool 20 minutes and then pour on the Sauce.

Step 2For the Sauce Combine all ingredients into a pan, bring to a boil, cool slightly, and then pour on cooled cake. It will be a bit runny at first, so I always let it sit a little while, making sure I stir a bit, so it won't get that shell on top. But, so good. It really adds the finishing touch to this cake. Just fabulous.
