This is the first cake my Grandmother taught me to bake. It is a very simple recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 4 cups finely chopped apples
- 1 cup chopped nuts
How To Make fresh apple cake

Step 1Cream Butter and Sugar together. Beat in Eggs.

Step 2In a separate bowl, whisk together the Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda & Cinnamon.

Step 3Mix dry ingredients into soft ingredients. Add slowly and do not overbeat.

Step 4Fold in Apples & Nuts.

Step 5Pour into greased & floured 9x13 pan. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 35-45 minutes or until cake tests done.

Step 6Wonderful served warm or cold. I usually serve it warm with a drizzle of caramel & whipped cream.
