This is my mother's recipe. She always made it for holiday dinners. It is always a hit with family & friends. I get lots of requests to make this cake. Everyone says it stays so moist!!

Ingredients For fresh apple cake
1 c
oil
2 c
sugar
3 lg
eggs
3 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
soda
1/4 tsp
salt
1 tsp
cinnamon
1 tsp
nutmeg
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
finely chopped nuts
3 c
grated apples
GLAZE
1/2 c
sugar
1/4 tsp
soda
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla
1/4 c
buttermilk
2 Tbsp
butter
How To Make fresh apple cake

Combine flour,salt,soda,cinnamon, & nutmeg. Set aside.
Add dry ingredients. Batter will be very thick. Add vanilla. Add pecans & apples.

Pour batter into a 10 inch greased & floured tube pan. Bake at 350 for about 1 hr & 15 min.

Poke holes all over cake with toothpick. Spoon hot glaze over hot cake. Cool and remove from pan.

GLAZE: Combine all ingredients. Boil for 4 minutes stirring occ.
