1Cream butter; add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients. Gradually add to egg mixture. Stir in apples and nuts. Turn into buttered 13x9x2 pan. Bake 40-50 minutes at 325
2Serve with Hot Buttered Rum Sauce
1 c. sugar; 1/2 c butter; 1/2 c. half and half; 1 tsp rum extract
3In a saucepan combine sugar, butter and cream. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally until hot. Stir in extract.
