Ingredients

  • FRESH APPLE CAKE
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking power
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
  • 3 cups golden delicious apples cored and chopped

How To Make fresh apple cake

  • Step 1
    Cream butter; add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients. Gradually add to egg mixture. Stir in apples and nuts. Turn into buttered 13x9x2 pan. Bake 40-50 minutes at 325
  • Step 2
    Serve with Hot Buttered Rum Sauce 1 c. sugar; 1/2 c butter; 1/2 c. half and half; 1 tsp rum extract
  • Step 3
    In a saucepan combine sugar, butter and cream. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally until hot. Stir in extract.
