Ingredients
- FRESH APPLE CAKE
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking power
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
- 3 cups golden delicious apples cored and chopped
How To Make fresh apple cake

Step 1Cream butter; add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients. Gradually add to egg mixture. Stir in apples and nuts. Turn into buttered 13x9x2 pan. Bake 40-50 minutes at 325

Step 2Serve with Hot Buttered Rum Sauce 1 c. sugar; 1/2 c butter; 1/2 c. half and half; 1 tsp rum extract

Step 3In a saucepan combine sugar, butter and cream. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally until hot. Stir in extract.
