Ingredients

  • FRESH APPLE CAKE

  • 1/2 c
    butter, room temperature
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 c
    sifted flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking power
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped nuts
  • 3 c
    golden delicious apples cored and chopped

How to Make Fresh Apple Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream butter; add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients. Gradually add to egg mixture. Stir in apples and nuts. Turn into buttered 13x9x2 pan. Bake 40-50 minutes at 325
  2. Serve with Hot Buttered Rum Sauce
    1 c. sugar; 1/2 c butter; 1/2 c. half and half; 1 tsp rum extract
  3. In a saucepan combine sugar, butter and cream. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally until hot. Stir in extract.
