- 1 1/4 cups canola or vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups sifted flour
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup nuts, cut small
- 3-4 - apples. you can use a combination of different types of apples or all red delicious. peel and cut/dice the apples into small pieces
