Ingredients
- 1 pint fig preserves
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 - eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups pecans, in pieces
How To Make fig cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream sugar and butter; add beaten eggs.

Step 2Mix buttermilk and soda and then add to first mixture.

Step 3Add flour gradually, add nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon.

Step 4Add fig preserves, vanilla and nuts.

Step 5Bake in tube pan 1 1/2 hours or until done at 300 degrees. This is a very dense cake.
