My sister makes this cake for all of her social functions. It is often requested as a family favorite for birthday cakes.

Ingredients

1 box (18 oz) white cake mix
1 package (3oz) strawberry jello
1 cup strawberries, mashed
1 cup canola oil
1/2 cup whole milk
4 large eggs at room temperature
FROSTING
8 ounces package of cream cheese at room temp
1/2 cup butter
5-6 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons cool whip, thawed
1/4 cup or more, strawberries, chopped fine

How To Make everyone's favorite strawberry cake

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray 13x9 pan with baking spray.

Step 2

Place cake mix, jello, strawberries, oil, milk and eggs in mixing bowl. Mix three minutes, stopping to scrape down sides of the bowl.
Step 3

Bake 28 to 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely. If using 2-9 inch round pans, bake for 28-31 minutes; 8 inch pans 30-33 minutes.
Step 4

For the Frosting: Mix cream cheese and butter until smooth. Sift sugar and add one cup at a time. Add strawberries and cool whip and mix thoroughly.
