I made these many years ago for a get together and everyone enjoyed them I got the recipe from an old cookbook.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    butter
  • 4
    eggs
  • 2 c
    regular flour (sifted)
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon extract or juice
  • 1 can(s)
    cherry pie filling
  • ·
    confectioners' sugar

How to Make Easy-Time Holiday Squares

Step-by-Step

  1. Graduallyadd sugar to butter in large mixer bowl,creaming at medium speed of mixer until light and fluffy.
  2. At medium speed add eggs,one at a time,beating well after each.
  3. At low speed add flour and lemon extract.
  4. Pour batter into a well-greased 15x10x1-inch jellyroll pan.Mark off into 20 squares.Place 1 heaping tablespoon pie filling in center of each square.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.While warm ,sift confections's sugar over cake.Cool cut into squares.
