- RED VELVET CAKE
- 1 (18.5) package white cake mix
- 1 (3.5) package non-instant chocolate pudding
- 1 bottle red food coloring, as desired
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- CREAM-CHEESE FROSTING
- 2 8 ounce packages cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make easy peasy delicious red velvet cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Step 2Prepare cake according to package directions, substituting half of the water called for with buttermilk (approximately 1/2 cup). Stir in pudding mix and food coloring.

Step 3Pour into cake pan(s) and bake according to package directions.

Step 4In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the confectioners' sugar. Store in the refrigerator for 10 minutes, then frost evenly onto cake.
