Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened apple sauce
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1/2 stick butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup water or your favorite liquor
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2/3 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup raisins
- 32 ounces fruitcake mix soaked in your liquor
How To Make easy fruitcake

Step 1Heat oven to 350*. Grease bottom and sides of loaf pans or tube pans with shortening and lightly flour. Soak fruitcake mix in your favorite liquor will mixing the cake batter, drain well then use.

Step 2Beat all ingredients, except raisins, nuts and fruitcake mix in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on high speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in raisins, nuts and fruitcake mix. Pour into pan(s).

Step 3Bake 45 to 50 minutes (cooking times may vary depending on your oven) or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Remove and cool completely.

Step 4Do not use self rising flour in this recipe.
