earthquake cake
I got this recipe recently from a friend in Arizona. When baking, this cake develops craters and cracking much like a freeway after a tremor. The finished product is very moist and richly chocolate. Serve with a dollop of whipped topping and it's pure heaven.

Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup nuts- i like pecans
- 1 package cake mix, devils food
- 1 package 8 oz. cheese, room temperature
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups powdered sugar

Step 1Grease 9X13 pan. Sprinkle coconut and nuts on bottom of pan. Mix cake mix according to directions on the box and pour over coconut and nuts. Mix cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar and vanilla and drop by spoonfuls over cake mix. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes.
