butter, softened
3/4 c
sugar

eggs
2 1/4 c
cake flour
3 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
3/4 c
milk
1 tsp
vanilla extract
2-3 c
thinly sliced apples (mixed with a 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice with 1/4 cup water) drain before using

How to Make DUTCH APPLE CAKE

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream butter, sugar and eggs together. Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt and add alternately with the milk to the first mixture. Add vanilla and
    beat thoroughly.
  • 2Pour into a greased pan, having batter 1 inch deep in
    9-inch cake pan or a springform pan. Arrange thinly sliced apples in rows on top of batter. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and dot with small bits of
    butter. Bake in a moderate oven (350ยบ) for 45 minutes or until apples are tender.
