Very easy! This is the recipe my great-aunt passed to me. I remember thinking she must spend hours in the kitchen making this..she tricked me!

Ingredients

1 box cake mix, orange or white
2 teaspoons orange extract
- all ingredients listed on cake mix
2-3 - drops orange food coloring (if white cake)
FROSTING
4 ounces cream cheese
8 ounces sour cream
1 cup powdered sugar
1 - regular sized tub of cool whip

How To Make dreamsicle cake

Step 1

Preheat oven to temperature on box. Grease and flour (I like to use powdered sugar) two 8 or 9 inch cake pans.

Step 2

Mix cake as directed on box, adding the orange extract. Bake according to directions on box. Cool completely.
Step 3

Slice each layer in half making 4 layers. Cover and stack each layer with prepared frosting.
Step 4

Frosting- Beat cream cheese and sour cream slowly adding powdered sugar until well blended. Fold in cool whip.
