Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 - unsweetened chocolate squares, melted
  • 4 - eggs
  • 2.5 cups cake flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate chips coated in 2 tablespoons flour

How To Make double chocolate pound cake

  • Step 1
    Cream butter with sugars until smooth and well blended.
  • Step 2
    Add chocolate and eggs, one at a time. Beat until fluffy.
  • Step 3
    Mix flour and baking soda and add to creamed mixture.
  • Step 4
    Blend in buttermilk and vanilla, stir until smooth, then add chocolate chips.
  • Step 5
    Turn batter into a well-greased and floured 10-inch tube baking pan.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
  • Step 7
    Let cake cool in pan for a couple of minutes and then turn cake out of pan onto a wire rack and cool completely.
  • Step 8
    Garnish with fresh sliced strawberries or other berries.
  • Step 9
    Serve with a dollop of whipping cream.
