double chocolate cheesecake
The cake mix I used was Betty Crocker Super Moist Triple Chocolate Fudge. It has pudding in the mix! This is a favorite of my son.

This cake reminds us of a Black Forest cake, but with a cheesecake filling. Starting with a boxed chocolate cake mix, other pantry ingredients are added to create a wonderful dessert. Cherry pie filling is folded into the batter to add cherry flavor to the chocolate cake, and gives the cake almost a fudgy texture. A cheesecake ribbon throughout the center is rich and creamy.

Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 5 large eggs, divided
- 1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz)
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons corn syrup, light
- marashino cherries, optional

The icing is a thick icing that gets hard as it cools. We spooned it over the cake while warm.

Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Beat 3 eggs with a mixer.

Step 2Add dry cake mix.

Step 3Then add the oil and mix well with a mixer.

Step 4Add the cherry pie filling.

Step 5Stir until well blended. Keep back 1 cup of batter.

Step 6Pour the rest of the batter into a greased Bundt pan. Set aside.

Step 7Combine cream cheese and sugar, mixing well.

Step 8Blend in the remaining 2 eggs, one at a time, until well blended.

Step 9Pour the batter into the pan over the chocolate batter.

Step 10Spoon reserved batter over cream cheese.

Step 11Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.

Step 12When the cake is baked, combine butter, white chocolate chips, and corn syrup in a double boiler.

Step 13Cook over low heat until the chocolate is melted.

Step 14Remove the cake from the Bundt pan.

Step 15Drizzle white chocolate mixture over the slightly cooled cake. For looks, you can add a few maraschino cherries on top.
