How To Make double chocolate candy cane brownies
-
1grease and flour a 9 inch square pan. Heat oven to 350 degree's
-
2break up chocolate bar and chop up butter. Place in a double boiler and stir to melt together. ( I don't own a double boiler any more. You can just place a sauce pan in side another sauce pan with water. Just fill bottom sauce pan with enough water to touch the bottom of the pan placed inside the pan and heat stove to med high heat.)
-
3Remove pan of chocolate to cool. Cool till it's just slightly warm.
-
4in a bowl mix the sugar, eggs, salt vanilla, and peppermint extract. Blend well with a mixer until all ingredients are mixed well together. Take cooled chocolate and mix well in to sugar mixture.
-
5Add the flour a little at a time with spoon. Do not beat.stir until combined well. Add chocolate chips and combine together.
-
6put in oven for 50-60 minutes, or until knife inserted comes out with just a little chocolate on knife.
-
7Make frosting: Unwrap a bag of Hershey's candy cane kisses. Place in a microwave bowl with a 1/4 cup of half and half. Heat in microwave stopping every 30 seconds to mix. Heat until melted.( Add red food coloring if desired.) This gives it a more in depth color.
-
8Pour over cooled brownies and spread on top.Cool again for a half hour. Take individual Hershey candy kisses and place in rows to cut for each piece of brownie square. Sprinkle the crushed cane on top as well. Cool in fridge for 2 hours, and cut in to squares.
