Ingredients

LAYERS

6
eggs, separated
3/4 c
granulated sugar
1 c
flour

FILLING

10 Tbsp
butter, softened
1-1/2 c
confectioners' sugar
2
eggs, beaten
3 Tbsp
cocoa powder

TOPPING:

1/2 pt
heavy whipping cream
4 Tbsp
confectioners' sugar

How to Make Dobos Torte

Step-by-Step

  • 1For Layers: Separate eggs. Beat egg yolks and sugar until light. Beat egg whites and fold into egg mixture along with flour. With spoon, form circles of dough on buttered and floured cookie sheet. Circles should be 8 inches in diameter. Bkae until done, but not brown. (should be about 10 circles)
  • 2For Filling: Cream ingredients until fluffy. Put layers together with filling. Cool.
  • 3Whip cream and confectioner's sugar and frost top and sides of cake. Sprinkle with grated chocolate.
