As a child my favorite Aunt Virginia was known for this fudge-like rich and moist devil's food. This makes a large cake and goes a long way. Very good frosted with cool whip and instant pudding mixture or any favorite type. Dusted with powdered sugar through a doily lace pattern then adding real whipped cream on top is also very popular. I enjoy this best after storing covered overnight while the next morning the fudgy texture is great without frosting with a cup of coffee. I bake the jumbo muffin size cupcakes split with ice cream on top - better than traditional ice cream sandwiches. ENJOY!
