(1 RATING)
My family's favorite pie hands down! I came up with the recipe by combining a pie recipe with a crumb crust for a cake recipe.

How To Make crunchy caramel apple pie
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 375 F. 2.Prepare pie crust and chill until ready to use. 3.Peel and slice apples. Mix together sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Add apples and toss to coat. 4.Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell and cover completely with crumb topping, going to the very edge of the crust, being careful to leave no exposed apple. 5.Tent pie with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. 6.Remove foil from pie and bake additional 30-35 minutes until topping is nice and brown. 7.Remove from oven and cool for 15 minutes on wire rack. While pie is still warm but not too hot sprinkle the pecans on top of crumb topping and drizzle caramel over pecans, covering entire crumb topping. Cool pie completely before cutting.
