Ingredients
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water (105 degrees f to 115 degrees f)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 - egg
- 1 - egg white
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- CRUMB TOPPING
- 5 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 - egg yolk
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- EQUIPMENT
- - greased 9 x 9-inch baking pan
How To Make crumb cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Dissolve the yeast in the warm water.

Step 3Set aside.

Step 4In a saucepan, combine the milk and butter, cut into pieces.

Step 5Heat this until just lukewarm.

Step 6In a mixing bowl, combine the yeast, milk mixture, 1 egg, 1 egg white, salt, sugar and 1/2 cup flour.

Step 7Beat for 2 minutes.

Step 8Add remaining flour.

Step 9Beat into a stiff batter for 2 minutes at high speed, if using a mixer.

Step 10Spread into a greased 9 X 9-inch baking pan.

Step 12Blend in the egg yolk, flour and cinnamon. The mixture will be crumbly.
