Good old-fashioned Louisiana cake!

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 1/3 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 3 Tbsp
    melted butter
  • 2 oz
    melted chocolate
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • FROSTING:

  • 2 Tbsp
    strong black coffee
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar

How to Make Creole Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Gradually beat the sugar into eggs, add melted butter and chocolate.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon twice.
  4. Add alternately with milk.
  5. Pour into 7 x 11 inch pan.
  6. Bake about 25 minutes. Cool and cover with Creole Frosting.
  7. FROSTING: Stir ingredients together. Pour over cooled caked.
