Good old-fashioned Louisiana cake!

Ingredients

1 c
sugar
2
eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
1 1/3 c
flour
1/4 tsp
salt
3 Tbsp
melted butter
2 oz
melted chocolate
1/2 c
milk
2 1/2 tsp
baking powder

FROSTING:

2 Tbsp
strong black coffee
1/2 tsp
vanilla
2 Tbsp
cocoa powder
1 c
powdered sugar

How to Make Creole Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2Gradually beat the sugar into eggs, add melted butter and chocolate.
  • 3Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon twice.
  • 4Add alternately with milk.
  • 5Pour into 7 x 11 inch pan.
  • 6Bake about 25 minutes. Cool and cover with Creole Frosting.
  • 7FROSTING: Stir ingredients together. Pour over cooled caked.
