OK--I love using liquers in cakes. This one intrigued me--and it is very good (I got it from a credit union employee when I worked in Louisiana). I am tempted to try a chocolate glaze the next time I make it, since chocolate and banana seem to go so well together.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg
    golden butter cake mix
  • 1 pkg
    instant banana pudding (4 serving size)
  • 3 large
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c
    creme de banana
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • GLAZE

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    creme de banana
  • 1/4 c
    water

How to Make Creme de Banana Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 10 cup bundt pan with PAM.
  2. Mix first six ingredients together and pour into prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 1 hour or until tester comes out clean.
  4. After cake has cooled, make glaze by combining sugar, butter, creme de banana and water in a medium saucepan, bring to a boil over medium heat, and continue to cook for 3 minutes.
  5. Pour glaze over cooled cake.
