I got this recipe from my hometown paper back in 2002.

It is a favorite of mine & who ever I make it for.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    crisco, butter-flavored
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 6
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract - or - coconut flavoring

How to Make CREAM POUND CAKE

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven: 325 degrees.

    Grease & flour -- 10 inch tube pan
  2. In mixing bowl: cream Crisco & sugar thoroughly.

    Add eggs 1 at a time; beat after each one. Add your flavoring.
  3. In another bowl: measure out the dry ingredients & then add alternately with the sour cream to the egg mixture.

    Beat thoroughly after each addition.

    Pour in pan.
  4. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

    When cake tester comes out clean it is done.


    Cool on wire rack, then remove from pan.
  5. Can be served plain or garnish with fresh fruit & whipped cream.
