I got this recipe from my hometown paper back in 2002.

It is a favorite of mine & who ever I make it for.

Ingredients

1 c
crisco, butter-flavored
3 c
sugar
6
eggs
1 c
sour cream
3 c
all purpose flour
1/4 tsp
baking soda
1/4 tsp
salt
2 tsp
vanilla extract - or - coconut flavoring

How to Make CREAM POUND CAKE

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven: 325 degrees.

    Grease & flour -- 10 inch tube pan
  • 2In mixing bowl: cream Crisco & sugar thoroughly.

    Add eggs 1 at a time; beat after each one. Add your flavoring.
  • 3In another bowl: measure out the dry ingredients & then add alternately with the sour cream to the egg mixture.

    Beat thoroughly after each addition.

    Pour in pan.
  • 4Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

    When cake tester comes out clean it is done.


    Cool on wire rack, then remove from pan.
  • 5Can be served plain or garnish with fresh fruit & whipped cream.
