This is sweet, This is Gooey, This is a special recipe to me. A lady that I worked with would bring a pan of this in at Christmas time and NOT share the recipe with anyone. It made everyone's taste buds tingle and made them upset she wouldn't share the recipe. She sent me a Christmas card with this recipe in it and written at the top "shhhh" it's our little secret. She has since passed on and I'm passing this on because it is so delicious.

Ingredients

BATTER
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 pound chopped dates
4 teaspoons baking powder
SAUCE
2 cups brown sugar
3 cups water
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 tablespoons butter

How To Make crazy date pudding

Step 1

in large bowl, combine batter ingredients with mixer and pour into a sprayed 13 x 9 pan

Step 2

In sauce pot, combine sauce ingredients and bring to a boil, and boil 5 minutes.
Step 3

pour sauce over batter in pan
Step 4

bake at 350 degrees, preheated oven about an hour.
Step 5

serve warm with whipped cream. but it's OK cold too.
