This is a great snacking cake; no eggs and no greasing the baking dish! You mix and bake in the same dish. You don't even have to frost, it's so moist. It's good with coffee when you have surprise guests. I've been making this recipe for about 35 years and it's always a pleaser.

Ingredients

  • INTO AN 8X8 BAKING DISH, SIFT:
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2-4 tablespoons cocoa, unsweetened
  • MAKE 3 WELLS IN THE SIFTED DRY INGREDIENTS AND INTO THEM PUT:
  • 6 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make crazy cake

  • Step 1
    Pour 1 cup cold water over all and stir with a fork.
  • Step 2
    Bake in 350° oven for 30-35 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Quick frosting: While cake is still warm, sprinkle with chocolate chips (or Hershey bars), use knife to spread when soft. You can also use a canned frosting if you prefer. NOTE: Powdered sugar does not work well, as this cake is very moist.
