1Sift together the 1 1/4 cups flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in the first 4 Tbsp. butter til mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix egg, milk and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Spread in greased 8 x 8 inch baking pan. Spoon cranberries over batter.
2Mix the 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in remaining 4 Tbsp. butter til mixture resembles coarse crumbs; sprinkle over cranberries. Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes.
