I just love these bars...the tartness of the cranberries go well with the cream cheese frosting. This would be a nice addition to your Holiday meals. Enjoy!!

Ingredients

1 stick
butter, room temperature
1 1/2 c
sugar
2
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla
1 1/2 c
flour
1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking powder
2 c
whole fresh cranberries
1/2 c
chopped pecans

FROSTING

2 1/2 c
confectioners' sugar
4 oz
cream cheese, softened
1/4 c
butter, softened
2 tsp
milk
1 tsp
vanilla extract

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease a 13 x 9 baking pan.
2In bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, salt, baking powder, cranberries and nuts.
3Spread batter into pan. Batter will be thick ( If too thick, add about 1/3 cup buttermilk or milk to loosen some.)
4Bake in preheated oven 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely.
5Frosting:

In bowl, beat together all ingredients.
6Spread on cooled bars and cut into small squares...enjoy!
