I just love these bars...the tartness of the cranberries go well with the cream cheese frosting. This would be a nice addition to your Holiday meals. Enjoy!!

  • 1 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 2
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 c
    whole fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans

  • 2 1/2 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 4 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Cranberry Bars & Cream Cheese Frosting


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Grease a 13 x 9 baking pan.
  2. In bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, salt, baking powder, cranberries and nuts.
  3. Spread batter into pan. Batter will be thick ( If too thick, add about 1/3 cup buttermilk or milk to loosen some.)
  4. Bake in preheated oven 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely.
  5. Frosting:

    In bowl, beat together all ingredients.
  6. Spread on cooled bars and cut into small squares...enjoy!
