"crack" cake

THERE ARE NO ILLICIT INGREDIENTS IN THIS RECIPE!! It gets its name because once you have a bite, you can't get enough! Plus, the surface will sometimes crack when removing the pan from the oven. I got this recipe from a co-worker and it is always a hit.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CRUST
  • 1 box duncan hines butter cake mix
  • 1 - egg, room temperature
  • 1 stick butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • FOR THE TOPPING
  • 2 - eggs, room temperature
  • 1 box powdered sugar, 16oz
  • 1 package philadelphia cream cheese, 8oz, room temperature

How To Make "crack" cake

  • Step 1
    Combine crust ingredients in a large bowl with a wooden spoon, pressing butter pieces into each other until they form a ball. Spread into 13x9 foil pan.
  • Step 2
    Combine topping ingredients in another large bowl and pour on top of crust mix.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Let cool before serving.
