Colongo's Crispy Coated Pound Cake
- 3 c
- all purpose flour
- 1 lb
- powdered sugar
- 1 lb
- unsalted butter
- large eggs
- 1/2 c
- regular table sugar
- 3 Tbsp
- corn strarch
How to Make Colongo's Crispy Coated Pound Cake
- 11st you remove 3 tablespoons of the all purpose flour from the 3 cups your using to make cake and replace it with the 3 tablespoons of corn starch. This needs to be sifted together well.
- 2Then mix soft butter and powdered sugar and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar well. Mix in flour and eggs one egg at a time along with 1cup of flour mixture at a time then 2 teaspoons of good Vanilla. The Granulated sugar gives this cake crispy texture on the outside.
- 3Mix all this together with the 6 eggs REAL!! well. Then pour in Bunt Pan well oiled and floured. Place in pre heated oven at 325 for 1-1/2 hrs. check with tooth pick after 1 hr. do not open before 1 hr. it will fall!!
- 4You can then pour real strong home made lemon aide with powdered sugar mixed thick on stove top heat with real honey to your liking. Don't soak it but lean on it a little bit. I put it in the freezer with a plate on it for 30 mins. ,when it comes out with a plate on it so it will stay moist. So it will cool down fast. Then remove from pan.
