I use potassium salt which is a no salt substitute. It performs the same as salt but gives you a healthier benefit. It is easy to find just look for salt substitute in your grocery store.

Ingredients

  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 2 1/4 c
    sugar divided
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    potassium no salt substitute
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp
    powdered sugar

How to Make Coffee Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
    Spray a bunt pan with organic cooking spray.
  2. using your mixer, mix the butter and two cups of sugar in a small bowl.
  3. After the butter and sugar are well mixed add the eggs,sour cream, vanilla and almond.
  4. In a seperaate bowl, mix together the flour,baking powder and potassium.
  5. Add half of the dry ingredients into the wet ingrediants.
  6. Slowly add remaining dry ingrediants to the rest of your mixture until well combined.
  7. in a small bowl combine brown sugar, 1/4 sugar,cinnamon mix until well combined.
  8. Pour Half of the batter into the Bunt pan.
  9. Sprinkle sugar cinnamon mixture over the batter as evenly as possible. Pour remaining batter over sugar mixture into the pan.
  10. Remove cake from pan and sprinkle powdered sugar over the top. Enjoy!
