I use potassium salt which is a no salt substitute. It performs the same as salt but gives you a healthier benefit. It is easy to find just look for salt substitute in your grocery store.

Ingredients

  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 sticks butter, room temperature
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon potassium no salt substitute
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

How To Make coffee cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a bunt pan with organic cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    using your mixer, mix the butter and two cups of sugar in a small bowl.
  • Step 3
    After the butter and sugar are well mixed add the eggs,sour cream, vanilla and almond.
  • Step 4
    In a seperaate bowl, mix together the flour,baking powder and potassium.
  • Step 5
    Add half of the dry ingredients into the wet ingrediants.
  • Step 6
    Slowly add remaining dry ingrediants to the rest of your mixture until well combined.
  • Step 7
    in a small bowl combine brown sugar, 1/4 sugar,cinnamon mix until well combined.
  • Step 8
    Pour Half of the batter into the Bunt pan.
  • Step 9
    Sprinkle sugar cinnamon mixture over the batter as evenly as possible. Pour remaining batter over sugar mixture into the pan.
  • Step 10
    Remove cake from pan and sprinkle powdered sugar over the top. Enjoy!
