I got this recipe from my aunt Delores years ago. It is THE most moist , delicious coconut cake I have ever tasted

Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix, cooked per directions on box
  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 12 ounces package frozen coconut, thawed

How To Make coconut sour cream cake

  • Step 1
    Cook yellow cake according to directions on box, then split each cake to make 4 layers Allow to cool
  • Step 2
    Combine sugar, sour cream and coconut and blend well. Chill. Reserve 1 Cup for later
  • Step 3
    Spread the remainder of the sour cream mixture between layers of the cake
  • Step 4
    Beat the reserved 1 Cup sour cream mixture with the whipped topping and spread on top of cake STORE IN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER IN FRIDGE FOR AT LEAST 2 DAYS BEFORE SERVING OMG- SO good!
