Ingredients

  • 2 stick
    butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c
    crisco
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 5
    eggs
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    coconut
  • 1 tsp
    coconut extract

How to Make Coconut Pound Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream butter sugar crisco and cocnut extract. Add eggs one at a time and beat until fluffy.Mix flour salt and baking powder well. Alternate flour and milk with the creamed mixture. Fold in coconut. Put cake in cold oven @350 and bake for 1hr. and 15 minutes. (I use a bundt pan but you can also use a loaf pan)
  2. Combine 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup water and 1 teaspoon coconut extract. Bring to boil and boil for 1 minute. Pour over cake while still warm
