this came from a very old cookbook. it came as a set in perfect condition. what a great tag sale that was.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup shortening or butter
  • 5 - eggs
  • 1 package coconut
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon coconut, almond, flavoring
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring

How To Make coconut pound cake

  • Step 1
    cream the butter and sugar. add eggs one at a time. add the coconut,milk, flavorings. add the dry ingredients slowly. pour into well greased bundt pan. bake 350 1 hour. if use the pam spray for baking(contains flour) will work great. after 30 minutes, remove from pan and pour over the glaze. to make the glaze combine the 1cup sugar,water, and flavoring(last three ingredients) boil to dissolve the sugar. pour over warm cake slowly.
