This is a very moist and rich chocolate cake.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup cocoa-cola
  • 1-1/2 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon soda (dissolve in buttermilk)
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
  • FROSTING
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 6 tablespoons coke
  • 1 box 10x sugar (confectionary sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts or almonds)

How To Make cocoa cola cake

  • Step 1
    Sift together flour and sugar.
  • Step 2
    Combine the butter, Crisco, cocoa and Cocoa-Cola. Bring to a rapid boil and pour over flour and sugar. Add the marshmallows, buttermilk (dissolve soda in it), eggs and vanilla.
  • Step 3
    Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2 inch sheet cake pan, or you can also use 2 (8 or 9 inch) layer pans, if you'd like. Bake @ 350 degrees for 45 minutes in sheet pan, and 25-35 in layer pans.
  • Step 4
    Melt butter, cocoa and Coke in saucepan.
  • Step 5
    Sift powdered sugar into bow. Pour hot mixture over top. Add flavoring. Beat well with mixer. Spread on cake. Sprinkle top with chopped nuts of your choice.
