This recipe came from our local paper in 1969. It is the first cake my Mom and I tried together, after that we were always cooking something. I still have the orginal copy from the paper

Ingredients

yellow cake mix
1 box
vanilla instant pudding mix 3 oz.
3/4 c
cooking oil

eggs
10 oz. bottle of clear carbonated beverage (seven up, sprite etc.)

ICING

1 can(s)
large of crushed pineapple
1 c
white sugar

eggs, beaten

stick, margarine

heaping tablespoon flour
1 c
coconut

How to Make Clear Carbonated Beverage Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1For the cake: mix all the first 5 ingredients well and bake at 325 for 25 to 40 minutes in a 9x13 pan. Leave the cake in the pan after cooking.
  • 2For the icing, mix all ingredients except coconut and cook until thick. Then add the coconut. Cool and spread on cake.
