Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1.25 cups granulated sugar
- 4 - eggs
- 6 - milk chocolate bars (1.55 ounces each), melted
- 2.5 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 dash salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- - confectioners' sugar
How To Make classic chocolate bar cake

Step 1Heat oven to 350.

Step 2Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan or 12-cup fluted tube pan.

Step 3In large mixer bowl, beat butter until creamy; gradually add granulated sugar, beating on medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.

Step 4Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Step 5Add chocolate; beat until blended.

Step 6Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; add to chocolate mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating until blended.

Step 7Add syrup and vanilla; beat until blended.

Step 8Stir in pecans.

Step 9Pour batter into prepared pan.

Step 10Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.

Step 11Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack.

Step 12Cool completely. Sift powdered sugar over top, if desired.
