How to Make Cinnamon Swirl Snickerdoodle Mug Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. In a small bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, mix the additional cinnamon and sugar. Set aside.
  2. Add wet ingredients to the first bowl. Mix with a small whisk until just combined.
  3. Pour half the batter into a 12 oz mug.
  4. Add 1 tsp of cinnamon sugar on top of the batter.
  5. Pour the other half of the batter into the mug. Top with the remaining cinnamon sugar.
  6. Take a butter knife and give it a quick swirl.
  7. Place in the microwave. Cook for about 90 seconds. Time may vary depending on the strength of your microwave. (Carefully remove the mug, it’s hot!)
  8. The cake will puff up while cooking. When removed from the microwave it will settle down to about an inch from the rim.
  9. Top with 1 Tbsp of store-bought cream cheese frosting. If you top with frosting while it’s hot, it will melt like the topping on a cinnamon roll.
