This is a Heirloom recipe handed down from my husbands Mother, Janice Arnold. Serve warm everyone loves it. Never have any left overs.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons powder sugar

How To Make cinnamon supper cake

  • Step 1
    Gradually add sugar to shortening, creaming until fluffy. Add egg, beat well. Add vanilla and milk. Sift together and add flour, baking powder and salt. Beat until smooth.
  • Step 2
    Bake in a 9 inch round layer pan or 8 inch square pan at 375 degrees for 20-25 min.
  • Step 3
    Remove from oven. At once spread with butter, than sprinkle with cinnamon and powder sugar over cake. Serve warm.
