Ingredients

  • 3 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • CREAM CHEESE ICING
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups powedered sugar
  • - milk

How To Make cinnamon streusel kuchen

  • Step 1
    Spray a 9x9-inch pan; set aside. Combine 1 cup of flour and yeast in large bowl and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Heat milk in small saucepan, stir in sugar, 1/2 cup butter, and salt. Heat just until warm and butter is almost melted. Add milk mixture & eggs to flour mixture. Beat on low for 30 seconds, scrape sides and beat on high speed for 2 minutes or until smooth. Beat in remaining flour and beat until batter is stiff.
  • Step 3
    In prepared pan, pour half the batter. Stir together in small bowl the brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter, and the cinnamon. Fold in walnuts. Spoon the mixture over the batter. Spoon on remaining batter on top of walnut mixture, cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  • Step 4
    Preheat oven to 350*. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire rack for at least 30 minutes before frosting.
  • Step 5
    CREAM CHEESE ICING: In medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, 2 tbsp. of butter and 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and 1 tsp. milk (one a time) until desired consistency. Spread over cake. 14 points per serving
