Ingredients

  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 125 grams butter, cold
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon mixed spice

How To Make cinnamon slice

  • Step 1
    Pre-heat oven to 180C Grease & line a slice tin. Put butter ,flour & sugar into bowl & rub in until fine crumbs. Press half mixture into prepared tin & flatten. Set aside
  • Step 2
    Add baking soda to cold milk & mix well Add cinnamon & mixed spice to remaining crumb mixture & mix well Pour in cold milk & combine. Mixture will be quite thin.
  • Step 3
    Spread over mixture in slice tin & level. Bake approximately 35 mins until golden brown. Ice with lemon icing & sprinkle with cinnamon when cool. Cut into squares.
